What is MOTH?

Music on the Hill – or MOTH – has been bringing singer-songwriters and bands to listening audiences on the Mornington Peninsula for ten years.

Presenting a variety of national and international touring and recording artists and bands who are often supported by the best local talent, MOTH is an event with a difference. It features a capacity of 100 plus, an intimately comfortable atmosphere, excellent sound quality and lighting – all ensuring that the music is the focus.

The organisers have created a welcoming and friendly environment where accomplished singer-songwriters and bands perform to music lovers in an intimate setting. They aim to develop a warm, social atmosphere and nurture a genuine music club feel.

MOTH is held monthly (and sometime twice-monthly) – usually on the first Friday of every month at various venues including art galleries, wineries, churches and halls.

MOTH is currently hosted by The Shed Theatre, The Pig and Whistle in Main Ridge and will host a ‘Winter Series’ of shows at Flinders Civic Hall. Proceeds go to the artists, technical crew, the hiring of equipment on the night and insurances and OneMusic licence.

Tickets prices vary from around $40 – $50 per show. MOTH has a membership scheme where members receive a $5 discount per show. Tickets can be purchased here. MOTH memberships can be purchased here.

MOTH is a safe space – inclusive and accessible. Companion cards welcome.

MOTH acknowledges and pays respect to the Bunurong/Boon Wurrung people, the Traditional Custodians of the land we meet on.

Supported by Mornington Peninsula Shire.
